HeRo 5000 allows you to determine the “headroom” of crimped wires fast and traceable. So the analysis of the headroom gives you a qualified evidence for the monitoring capability of special wire/terminal combinations. Terminals, which cannot be monitored safely by the crimp force monitor, can be filtered out before production starts.
The piezo sensor attached to the crimping machine is connected via an external interface (FSI Force Sensor Interface) to a PC. After starting the computer program at least 20 "good" crimps are produced, subsequently with the same contact at least 10 "bad" crimps (insulation only). The headroom program then automatically calculates the headroom and stores the measured values in a database.
